Mortafil: A Legacy of Innovation and Quality

Founded in 1994 in Perth, Western Australia, Mortafil was created by Peter Dresen. Born in Germany in 1939, Peter was a skilled Painter & Decorator who, after migrating to Australia in 1966, identified a significant gap in the market for reliable masonry repair products. This led him to develop Mortafil in the mid-1980s after years of experimentation.

Peter's persistence paid off when local hardware stores began stocking Mortafil, and soon it gained nationwide distribution. Originally called Ad-Fil, the product rebranded as Mortafil, maintaining its commitment to quality and versatility.

Kalista, Peter's sister, has been a vital part of Mortafil from the beginning, supporting Peter through every step. Though Peter passed away in 2016, his legacy continues through his family: Kalista, Sean, Elly, and Sandi, along with Shadow, our mascot.

Based in Perth, we use 90% Australian-made materials and prioritize excellent customer service. Our versatile product is designed for a wide range of masonry repair applications, limited only by your imagination.
